The first acquaintance with the very original Volkswagen Arteon, which has recently been updated and returned to the Ukrainian market. How does the car drive, how much it costs, who is in the competition, what about the design and safety, the real fuel consumption in different driving conditions - we understand all the details of the Volkswagen Arteon model during a full review.
Some would say that the Volkswagen Arteon nominally "grew" out of the Volkswagen Passat, which is the traditional representative of the "D" -class. But the bottom line is that the Arteon has grown in overall dimensions, and in the originality of the style, and in the perceived high cost of the model. At the same time, Volkswagen Arteon has not yet reached the traditional "E" -class according to the European classification. In addition, the ideological difference from the "business" sedans is that it is difficult to imagin Volkswagen in nigeria e a hired driver at the wheel of a Volkswagen Arteon - this is a very "own, personal car". And in the end: after all, the Volkswagen Arteon is not a sedan at all!
Initially, back in 2017, the Volkswagen Arteon was born in the form of a stylish and aerodynamic 5-door liftback, which in the current fashion is called the "5-door coupe". Recently, a planned update of the model took place, which presented not only new touches in the exterior / interior, but also a body of the Shooting Brake type. Before us is the first generation of the car, although the ideological predecessor can be called the Volkswagen Passat CC (or simply CC) model from the 2010s. The article presents a car with a 280-horsepower petrol engine, four-wheel drive, in the R-Line configuration.
The way you want it. The petrol 280-horsepower Volkswagen Arteon liftback is phenomenally versatile in its character and, at the same time, comprehensively developed. You can drive to work every day: in excellent silence "on the engine" and on the wheels, with sufficient traction already at 2-2.5 thousand and with imperceptible automatic switchings in about the same range. A beautiful, stylish, expensive car - which looks like that and also drives. The new Volkswagen Arteon never doubts its high class.
And in its high power. After all, one has only to press the accelerator pedal, it is worth choosing the S-mode of the box - as the true nature of a predator wakes up inside a beautiful body. At 5-6 thousand rpm, the engine beats to the beat of the driver's heart, who finally changed his office suit for his favorite jeans and moccasins: forward, the road awaits us! It doesn't matter if it will be a multi-thousandth rush through half of Europe or a trip along the Kiev-Zhitomir route to the Korolyov Museum of Cosmonautics. The main thing is more acceleration and acceleration, which for a moment turn the car into a rocket and seal it to the back of the seats! Moreover, the car in such moments lives and acts as a single organism. With every brisk start from a standstill, the Volkswagen Arteon crouches on the rear wheels, 4Motion all-wheel drive lives up to its name - and then, subtly playing with the rear wheels between drama and efficiency, the red body rushes forward. As a result, after a couple of seconds, most of the neighbors in the stream will only see that the dashingly turned up black spoiler on the trunk lid. Of course, you have to pay for everything - both at the time of purchase and during the subsequent maintenance. But more on that below. In the meantime, it is in these seconds that one can and should live with such moments of automobile joy.
In one phrase: the motor / gearbox / transmission combination is great. And the suspension as well. I remember how the DCC suspension on the Volkswagen T-Roc model fell out of place, how that crossover rode better on a conventional suspension. However, in the case of Volkswagen Arteon cars, the DCC adjustable suspension is exactly "what the doctor ordered"! In normal driving mode, the car is really normal, in comfortable mode it becomes softer, in sport mode it really turns out to be a little tougher. Moreover, it is the sport mode settings that I would accept "by default" for those versions of the Volkswagen Arteon, which are devoid of these wonderful DCC shock absorbers. After all, when buying a powerful and stylish car, you initially expect more sporting habits from it than from a family
